Spokesperson of the Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), Khadga Bahadur Bishwakarma has been brought to Kathmandu on Thursday.

Bishwakarma, who was taken to Dang for the investigation of his involvement in the bomb blast at Tulsipur during the federal and provincial elections, was flown to Kathmandu following a Supreme Court order on a habeas corpus writ petition, informed District Police Office Chief SP Krishna Hari Sharma.

The apex court, hearing on a habeas corpus writ, had ordered the police administration to present Bishwakarma at the court within 48 hours.

The Dang Deukhuri District Court on Sunday had granted police an 8-day remand of Bishwakarma to investigate the case but he had to be brought to the Capital following the SC order before the remand deadline ended, said SP Sharma. He further said that the investigation into the Dang bomb blast case will however continue.

Bishwakarma was brought to Bhojpur from Dang on September 7, after a note was found in his diary about Dang explosion.

On November 28, 2017, a Myadi (temporary) police Binod Chaudhary, 23, of Urhari in Tulsipur-12, died in an explosion targeted at Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s election rally in the district. Nine others were injured in the explosion.

Earlier, Bishwakarma was transported to Bhojpur on Tuesday (September 4), a day after he was released by the authorities in Kathmandu at the orders of the Supreme Court. He was accused of attacking the election rally attended by Province 1 Chief Minister Sher Dhan Rai in Bhojpur.

Bishwakarma, who was earlier arrested on extortion charges was released by the Supreme Court, was again arrested from the premises of Kathmandu District Court on the charge of setting fire to Namobuddha-6-based crusher industry. The arrested CPN spokesperson was then brought to District Police Office, Kavre.
